THE HALLOWEEN TRADITION

Halloween originally comes from the Celts that lived in Europe over 2000 years ago.
The Celtic festival comes from the Old Irish for “summer’s end” and the beginning of the ‘darker half’ of the year, the winter.
During the 19th Century when the Irish and Scottish immigrated massively to North America they brought the Halloween tradition with them.
Houses are decorated with, artificial spiders and cobwebs, pretend witches and ghosts.
People, children and adults dress up as ghosts, vampires, witches ... Children play trick or treat.
This happens on the night of October 31 and the next day is known as  All Saints Day ...
